Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy at Damen Optimal Health Team is different than what you may have experienced at other physiotherapy clinics, we provide one-on-one physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in private physio rooms. We are equipped with a physiotherapy gym containing all the modern physiotherapy equipment including a Stott Pilates reformer. Damen Optimal Health Team works hard to provide highly specific therapy without compromise, and without higher fees.
Physiotherapy uses a variety of specialized techniques including exercise rehabilitation therapy; clinical pilates; postural re-training; gait analysis and retraining balance and co-ordination re-training; and mobilization of tissues and joints with manual therapy techniques and manipulations.
Custom Orthotics
An orthotic refers to any device that can be inserted into a shoe, ranging from felt and gel pads to custom-made inserts that are designed specifically to correct an biomechanical dysfunction, abnormal walking pattern or a foot deformity. Orthotics often called arch supports, shoe inserts, and orthotics are very similar to eyeglasses, some people only require a low prescription you can purchase over the counter at the drug store, some people only need sunglasses purely for comfort, while others need a specialist to design a custom pair with their specific prescription. While glasses allow you to see properly, orthotics allow your foot and ankle to move properly as it holds your weight while you stand, walk, run, squat and jump.

Registered Massage Therapy involves a wide range of manual techniques applied to the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, fascia) and joints of the body. The therapy is usually pain-free, however there maybe some discomfort during or after the treatment. The therapist’s can alter the pressure they use from light touch to deep tissue at your request. The goals and purpose of Registered Massage Therapy within Damen Optimal Health is to relieve pain, and maintain, rehabilitate and improve the physical function of the body.
Acupuncture
The contemporary medical acupuncture provided at Damen Optimal Health Team is a proven therapeutic technique that is used successfully to treat both pain and dysfunction within the body. The insertion of very fine acupuncture needles into specific neuromuscular sites on the body, stimulates the natural healing response within the tissue. After completing careful and in-depth functional examination of the body, the health care practitioner will determine which tissues (nerve, muscle, ligament, tendon, fascia) require stimulation. he stimulation may be done manually or often electricity is added to increase the healing response or to activate a muscular contraction.

Owner and operator, Tyler Damen, opened Damen Optimal Health with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians including chiropractors, physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, chiropodist, and a Naturopathic Doctor to service the individuals of Strathory and the surrounding area. Starting with the main clinic on Front Street in Strathroy, Damen Optimal Health has expanded with a second location located in Parkhill, ON as well as a women’s clinic in Strathroy called Her Optimal Health.
