Radial shockwave therapy (RSWT) is the use of short, intense energy waves travelling faster than the speed of sound. These energy waves stimulate the breakdown of scar tissue and fibroblasts. This increases blood circulation and initiates metabolic activity, causing an inflammatory response that promotes and stimulates healing.
Your therapist will apply shockwaves through a specially designed hand piece that produces strong pneumatic energy pulses for short periods of time. The shockwave energy pulses are applied directly to the affected tissue areas in a controlled procedure. Research has also shown that Shockwave also breaks down calcium deposit.
We are pleased to inform our clients that our therapists are trained for treating concussion injuries (some people also called mild traumatic brain injury or whiplash injury). It is a common injury but easily ignored at the same time due to lack of awareness. Concussion can happen in injuries due to fall, sports, motor vehicle accidents, physical assault etc. A diagnosis of concussion is hard to make as there is no definitive modality (like CT Scan, MRI) available at present, so mainly its clinical diagnosis after ruling out serious complications such as skull fracture.
Pelvic Floor Problems Are Common. An enormous number of people suffer from pelvic health dysfunction and yet many patients feel quite alone with their problem. 30% of women suffer from urinary incontinence and more than half have minor organ prolapse following vaginal childbirth. Most people have heard of and tried Kegels. Unfortunately, if they have not been taught with internal feedback many people are doing them incorrectly! It’s important to seek care from an experienced professional.
Pelvic floor muscles can be like any other problematic muscle in our body and can create impairments by being either too weak or too tight.
LASER Therapy utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and helps to accelerate the healing process by stimulating the damaged tissues hence provide relief from pain and inflammation. The blood circulation improves and thus the wounds heals faster. It is a painless, sterile, non-invasive, drug-free treatment which is used to treat a variety of pain syndromes, injuries, wounds, fractures, neurological and many other conditions.
Manual therapy is any “hands-on” treatment provided by the physical therapist. Treatment may include moving joints in specific directions and at different speeds to regain movement, muscle stretching, passive movements of the affected body part, or having the patient move the body part against the therapist’s resistance to improve muscle activation and timing. Selected specific soft tissue techniques may also be used to improve the mobility and function of tissue and muscles.
